Gary Wassermann

PhD Student
Department of Computer Science
University of California, Davis

Research interests:

I am interested in improving the state of web application programming. My background is in PL/Software Engineering and I find these areas provide effective tools for addressing many of the security and reliability issues that arise. I have focussed for my disertation work primarily on SQL injection and cross-site scripting. For more information on my work, check out my publications on my research page or our web application security project page. I have been very privileged to work with and be advised by Zhendong Su.

I am going on the job market this year, and my job application materials will soon be available.

Teaching: 140A

Past:

I interned during the summer of 2007 at DoCoMo USA Labs and during the summer of 2005 at JPL. I got my B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering from UC Davis in 2002. Before that, I came from Chico, CA.

Teaching:

In the past, I have TA'd for ECS 153 (Security), 160 (Software Engineering), and 30 (Intro to Progamming and Problem Solving). This Spring, I will teach 140A (Programming Languages).

A few other activities:

I chaired the 2004 CS Student Workshop on Computing, and have helped to coordinate the PL seminar.
