PROFESSIONAL
EXPERIENCE
Research Assistant, Networks Lab, UC Davis, CA (07/04 –
Present)
Advisor: Professor Biswanath Mukherjee
Research Sponsors: National Science
Foundation (NSF), Fujitsu Labs. of America, and University of California MICRO
Program.
- Survivability in next-generation
optical networks
- Proposed a new
quality-of-service (QoS) metric for
availability-aware multi-path connection provisioning (e.g., for
Ethernet/data over SONET/SDH).
- Analyzed this
new metric and proposed algorithms for
provisioning.
- IP Resilience
In-depth review of various proposals
for providing fast and efficient resilience within an
Autonomous System of IP routers.
- Impairment-aware routing in an
all-optical network
Research in
collaboration with Fujitsu Labs. of
America, Sunnyvale, CA.
Investigating connection provisioning in an optical network in the presence of
physical-layer impairments.
- Provisioning in dual-node
interconnected SONET/SDH rings
Research in
collaboration with Fujitsu Labs. of
America, Sunnyvale, CA. Investigated
routing to avoid fragmentation. Explored benefits of Virtual
Concatenation.
Teaching Assistant, Department of Computer Science,
09/03-06/04
- Upper-division undergraduate
courses: ECS122A (Design and Analysis of Algorithms), ECS152A (Computer
Networks).
Intern, INRIA (Institut National de Recherche en
Informatique et Automatique) Labs, Project MASCOTTE, Sophia-Antipolis, France,
05/02-07/02
- Explored traffic grooming in WDM
networks.
Intern, INRIA (Institut National de Recherche en
Informatique et Automatique) Labs, Project MASCOTTE, Sophia-Antipolis, France,
05/01-07/01
- Worked on the development of
software for planning and optimizing WDM networks for France Telecom &
Alcatel.
