ECS154a Winter 2009
Welcome to the ECS 154a TA Page. I will attempt to update this page regularly with pertinent information. The best piece of advice I can give for this class is to get started early, I know you hear that for all classes, but particularly this class where debugging can be a slower and more painful process than usual.
I will be more than happy to help with homework and circuit building during office hours in addition to going over concepts, but you must have attempted the question/project at hand and present me with the work you have done
Administrative Information:
- TA: Rennie Archibald
- rvarchib@ucdavis.edu PLEASE have ECS 154a as the subject of your email! Else I cannot gurauntee I will receive it.
- Office: TA Room 55 in Kemper basement (this is subject to change based on the administration telling me otherwise)
- Office Hours: Monday: 1-2 Thursday 2 - 3; or by appointment
Grading Information:
- Homeworks will be returned a week after the due date. It is possible only a subset of the problems will be graded, however if a problem is not attempted, or clearly attempted only to get partial it will be counted wrong.
I suggest designing any circuits that are not graded interactively in quartus and printing them out for two reasons:
- You can test that it works in Quartus
- If I cannot read your handwritten circuit I'll assume that it's wrong.
- Projects/circuits will be graded via interactive grading. Upon submitting your project you will sign up for a time slot. During interactive grading you will be asked why you chose to do certain things in your programs, this will provide the opportunity for me to give partial credit when the circuit doesn't work.
