welcome to jack's homepage

Jack received the B.Eng and M.Phil degrees in Information Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 2005 and 2007 respectively. He is currently working toward a Ph.D degree in the Department of Computer Science at the University of California, Davis (UC Davis). His research interests include video and voice transmission and Quality of Service (QoS) over wireless mesh networks, and advanced IEEE 802.11-like multi-access protocols. He is a graduate student member of IEEE.

Research

  • Objective video quality metrics for video streaming in lossy wireless channels
  • Security in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system (Experiments of generating shared secret keys on MIMO testbed have been carried out)
  • Multimedia communication over wireless mesh networks (Experiments of Video Streaming on IEEE 802.11a and IEEE 802.11n (MIMO) testbeds have also been being carried out)
  • Voice over IP over IEEE 802.11 WLANs
  • Data collection over multi-hop WLANs
  • Advanced wireless medium access protocols to increase the scalability and capacity of WLANs
