City of Davis

Davis is a small university city (pop. 50,000) in Northern California near Sacramento and not far from the San Francisco Bay Area. Like most of the Central Valley, Davis has hot, dry summers and wet winters with pleasant temperatures; it also enjoys the Central Valley cornucopia of fresh fruit and vegetables and good wine.

Davis has a tradition of thoughtful urban planning, which has resulted in lots of trees, green belts, playgrounds, several city pools, and lots and lots of bicycles. It also has low crime.
