I, Me, Myself

I am the second of the two daughters at home. Most of my life has been spent in good old Chennai, India where I went thro' various stages of schooling and finally, undergrad education . Poona, Tanjore, Calcutta, Madurai,Karur and Mumbai are the other places I got to stay in (in India), thanks to my banker dad :-). And finally, in September 2001, it was destination USA!

I am currently doing my Master's in Computer Science. I am doing research in sensor networks. My area focuses on localization in sensor networks (more about that soon!).

I enjoy reading (am the staunchest fan of P.G.Wodehouse and occasionally enjoy poetry too!) and love listening to music (anything which does not sound like a dozen hammers banging on my head at the same time is okay!) and variety being the spice of life, have lately taken up more physical activities like aerobics, swimming, jogging etc.- though I bet no one could guess!

BTW, that picture of me on my home-page was taken on a recent hiking trip to Gilmore Lake (near Lake Tahoe). We were descending after the hike to the lake and that beautiful background was too good to be resisted - the result of which was this patel snap :-).
