Welcome to my homepage!

My name is Jie Zhang (pronounced "Jeea Jong"). Currently I am a Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science at University of California, Davis.

Research Interests

My research interests include

  • Spatio-temporal Aggregation
  • Access Methods, including relational, spatial, temporal, spatio-temporal access methods
  • Storage Management Strategies for Massive Datasets

I am participating in the GeoStreams project, which aims to design and develop new data models, architectures, and data processing techniques to adaptively process the real-time remotely-sensed, streaming geospatial image data, especially those data represented in the raster format. My current focus is on studying different techniques to store and process streaming, potentially unbounded geospatial image data, which arrives at a very high rate.

My advisor is Prof. Michael Gertz.
